I have a garden!

I have been working for the past couple months on a garden. I started seeds indoors, I built some raised beds--with my husbands help, I transplanted somewhat successfully, and I planted new plants. The garden is really Tyler's creation. He started talking about planting a garden right around Christmastime. He never stopped. Ben had mentioned it in the past but we could never decide where to put it. So I made a decision. I decided I was going to have a raised bed and it was going out back, thanks to Sarah for the inspiration on that part. Then I sat down and mapped out how I was going to plant my beds. I got out my pen and paper. The plan was to have four 5x5 beds. I sectioned them off and labeled where I was planing on planting what. Then I had some indoor peat starters that I had amazing help from Madison and Tyler putting seeds in. Well, like I said my husband built the beds for me and he also picked up the lumber. He decided to buy 12ft. boards, and then make 6x6 boxes for me. It really was sweet, but now I had to refigure my garden plans. But hey, I had garden beds. It was my job to install the sprinklers for the garden but Ben was once again very accommodating. He set the yard sprinklers so they didn't hit my garden. Once I had the sprinkler line and the soaker tubes installed I started planting. I tried to transplant my Jalapenos and Tomatoes. The jalapenos are doing better than the tomatoes did, but I might still have to go buy starts from the store. I also planted carrot seed(rainbow and baby carrots), green beans, garden beans (a mix of white purple and green beans), peas, and corn. I got onion starts from the store as well as new tomato starts, bell pepper-red and green, banana peppers, and Cayenne pepper.
I had been saving two rows in my garden for lettuce of some sort but none of my seeds took :( So I bought herbs :) Now I have some herbs in my garden that I can try to blend in with my cooking....I"m so excited.

Here are some pics of my, excuse me, our family's garden. (It's really mine!)

I am so impressed with your garden. These raised beds are incredible. Makes me want to pick a fresh tomato and douse it with salt and pepper! Thanks for stopping by my blog today and for the kind words about the totes!
