So this is not my kid's but his team will actually have these colors! I grew up playing in North Kitsap Pee Wees whose colors were red and black. Chico is who my son is going to play for and they are red and white. It's the field we always used to call the dust bowl or the gavel pit because it's dirt, all dirt. I can see all the socks and dirt now.....and oh yeah, we live in Washington, mud, everywhere!!!!
Okay so the next awesome thing that happened Saturday....It was my Grandpa Heywood's 75th birthday!!!!!! AMAZING 75 years old and he's just the busiest guy I've ever seen, I know he's got me beat. He makes me look pretty bad and that is OKAY with me! Yea Grandpa! We went to one of my Grandpa's favorite restaurants, our local Mongolian BBQ. You know it, big bowls of meat and veggies piled high and then sauces drizzled over and then, yes, the sizzle of someone cooking it up right in front of you. Mmmmm, beef, pork, shrimp, crunchy noodles, cabbage, carrots, broccoli, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger sauce, garlic sauce, and lemon water. Twice. with some white rice thrown in at the table and a little of the chili sauce on the side. TWICE!!! I ate so much and it was great goodness. My hubby doesn't take me there very often and Chinese is tied with Pasta as my all time favorite! I ate it up Saturday, literally, all of it! And then we got to go back to my Grandparent's house to celebrate Grandpa's birthday with cake and ice cream and cards. Since I am his favorite granddaughter(the oldest of the three girl grand kids with a total of 26 grand kids, AND the only gran child to have given him great-grand babies) I had to get him his favorite breakfast! Cinnabon! I got him a six pack for his birthday and a gift card loaded with a second pack once that one is done. Yeah, the perfect present, I know.

Happy birthday Gramps! And hooray for football. We skipped right over the flag and went straight for tackle.
I can't wait for tackle. He's five right now (turns six right after the season starts) and tackle dosen't start until he's seven. He can put on pads as soon as he can get baptized...sorta fitting.
very fun! we actually were talking about the mongolian bbq the other day. we used to do CPR on our bowls to get as much in as possible!!!
I hear mongolian bbq. I hear football and can't wait for babies to grow up and play football, and rugby. I heart your gramps, and I especially heart those cinni-buns.
I don't care if it is flag football, I'd be very surprised if Tyler makes it through the season w/o tackling someone. I'd love to go to a game next time I'm in town.
OK, I just gained 5 pounds just drooling over those Cinnabons!!! Yum!!
Go Tyler! and I am here to confirm that after five years of tackle football for Sammy, we have definitely seen more injuries in baseball than football--I never would have believed it if not seeing it with my own eyes. The fun is just beginning!
Our family lives for football! Fall is my VERY VERy VERY most favorite time of the year... changing leaves, and FOOTBALL! YEAH! I know it sounds so cliche' but it seems like just yesterday my Mitch was playing flag football... Now he is a big 14 year old really putting the hurt to some poor reciever. I love it!
