So last night I came home to the following message on my answering machine:
"Hi Tyler, I'm home from California. I can't wait to see you in the first grade. I know it's still summer. I miss you . I love you. Bye."
Yeah, my son turns six nine days! This is not the first time I've heard this little voice on my answering machine for my son. When we asked Ty who it was he got this silly little grin on his face and gave us a name of a boy. Ben looked at him with the "I know that's not true" look on his face and asked him again. Hailey is her name according to my son.
Anyway, I had Ty give her a call back. Ben said that I wanted Ty to call her so I could watch my son talk to a girl. I just rolled my eyes. The real reason I had him call her back is because she's called our house probably four times this summer, always during the day when we aren't there. Ty has never called her back. I just think it' would be a bad habit for him to start dodging calls this early in life. How many of you have had someone just ignore your messages, yeah pretty annoying. I was just trying to teach my son some common courtesy, that's all.
When someone calls you, call them back. Telemarketers excluded: Dodge all of their calls.
